Meet our big December winners
For many people, December was the end to a pretty tough year – a year which saw us stay home in an effort to keep coronavirus in check. But thanks to you, National Lottery players raised an incredible £800Million in 2020 to help good causes respond to the pandemic.
And for some players, December ended on a positive with 49 people winning prizes of £1Million or more on National Lottery games.
Lotto created 21 millionaires in December and on the 23rd, 98,664 people won £116 and a mind-boggling 982,492 people won £5 and a Lucky Dip because of the Rolldown. They include Diane Bate, from Rhyl, who won an amazing £3.8Million. Diane and husband Michael are keen travellers, so they’re hoping when things get back to normal they can get booking those holidays.
We also had some lovely news to end 2020, as a syndicate of Lotto Ladies scooped a £1Million prize which means they’re enjoying £50Thousand each as a Christmas bonus.
EuroMillions had a great month too with 5 UK players winning £1.89Million for matching 5 numbers and the Bonus Ball in the draw on Friday 11th December.
Mr L, from Fife led the good news on Instant Win Games. He scored a £300Thousand top prize on Cashword Bonus and has plans for a home upgrade and a holiday (when that’s a thing again). There were 3 other top prize winners on Instant Win Games in December with prizes between £100Thousand and £500Thousand being won.
December also saw some of our fantastic winners helping out in their communities. From spreading some cheer to 400 isolated people in Scotland through to hampers for carers in Lancashire and Cardiff.
