February’s a big month for winners

There was a sense of optimism in the air in February as the number of people receiving a coronavirus vaccine continued to rise and the Prime Minister unveiled a 4-step plan to ease the lockdown in England.

And it was a particularly great month for 30 lucky players who won prizes of £1Million or more on National Lottery games.

Lotto had a fantastic month, making a total of 15 millionaires in February.

EuroMillions wasn’t far behind making 14 millionaires. One lucky EuroMillions winner was Laura Hatch from Louth who woke up on a Saturday morning to discover she had scored a £100,576.20 online EuroMillions win in the 5th February draw. Laura, 27, checked her numbers after discovering her partner, Chris, had won £3 in the same draw. Read Lucky Laura’s story.

Meanwhile, 1 lucky Thunderball player had a great February, winning the top prize of £500,000.

National Lottery Instant Win Games made plenty of people happy in the second month of the year, with 5 players winning £50,000 or more.

And Scratchcards also had a phenomenal month, with 13 prizes being won including 1 top prize of £1Million.

A regular payment Scratchcard came up trumps for Sue Rees, a dinner lady from Pontypridd and her 24-year-old son Connor. The pair always buy 2 National Lottery Scratchcards when they go shopping and they were flabbergasted when Sue scratched her card and discovered she’d won £100,000 a month for a year.

Sue and Connor, whose biggest Scratchcard win previously was £150, are going to share the amazing prize. Read about Sue’s big helping of cash.

Another lucky Scratchcard player is bartender Jonathan Wright – known as Jonny – who says his “legs went to jelly” after realising he’d won £100,000 on a National Lottery Scratchcard. Despite his quivering legs Jonny “ran home like a schoolboy” to celebrate with his wife, Heather, a student nurse. Read Jonny’s story.
