March ‘springs’ some surprises for our big winners
The arrival of Spring coincided with the first step of the Government’s easing of restrictions – no wonder there was a feeling of cautious optimism in the air.
March was a particularly fantastic month for 35 lucky players who won prizes of £1Million or more on National Lottery games.
It was certainly a great month to be playing Lotto. The game made an amazing 17 millionaires in March – congratulations to each and every one of them!

EuroMillions is a game that gets pulses racing and the 5th March draw was certainly a lucky one for a husband and wife from Devon. Neil Smart, 50, and his wife Sue, 51, were stunned to learn they had won £1Million. Read all about the Smart's win here.
What about Set For Life? The game with the prizes that keep on coming created 3 top prize winners of £10,000 a month for 30 years.
How does winning a prize like that feel? Laura Hoyle, 39, and Kirk Stevens, 37, a couple from Hucknall near Nottingham, said they were “blown away” by their win. Not to be outdone, Thunderball yielded 2 top prize winners of £500,000 in March.
A total of 8 lucky players won £50,000 or more on Instant Win Games in the same period – 2 of them adding an astonishing £500,000 to their bank accounts.
Last, but by no means least, it was a fantastic month for Scratchcards. The game yielded 15 prizes of £50,000 or more including 5 £1Million wins and a sensational £2Million win.
